Speaker Symptoms

The speakers make white noise or a continuous tone.

First Step : Check the sound card drivers are not corrupt.
More information : Re-install your sound card drivers, replacing those that already exist. Assuming your installation disks themselves are not corrupt, then this will eliminate nay corruption of drivers. If the install set IS corrupt, then they should not install at all anyway.
