Network Symptoms

I am using Novell and I cannot attach to a server.

First Step : Check that the server is online, and there is a correctly terminated cable from your PC to the server.
More information : To attach to a server, several conditions must be met. The server must be online, meaning not only that it is switched on, but also that it must have Novell loaded, and at least one drive mounted. Also, there must be a network connection between the two, such as a 'bus topology' thin ethernet cable, or a 'star topology' RJ-45 network using a hub. If it is an ethernet network, there must be two terminators, preferably earthed, on each set of cables. Obviously, there must be a physical attachement from your PC, to the network cabling, to the server.
