Monitor Symptoms
Power light does not come on when monitor is switched on.
- First Step : Check that the power cable for the monitor is attached both to the monitor power socket, and a wall socket or other power supply. Make sure that the power supply is supplying power.
- More information : The power cable for a monitor has two plugs. One end attaches to a socket in the monitor, and looks like an ordinary kettle plug. The other end will either be a wall plug, or an inverted kettle plug. If it is a wall plug, make sure it is plugged into a wall socket that is supplying the correct voltage. Try plugging something else into the same socket to make sure. If the other end is an inverted kettle plug, it will attach to the power unit on your computer. Make sure that the power unit on your computer is switched on and working. If you suspect it may not be, try attaching a working kettle plug to the inverted kettle plug, and supply power from a wall socket that way. If you have a socket tester, make sure that the voltage is steady and at the correct level. (240v in the UK)
