The modem receives occasional control codes.
- First Step : Check the ANSI compatibility, and terminal type if appropriate.
- More information : The most common cause of occasional, strange strings of characters is a display protocol incompatibility. Check which protocol, such as ANSI, the two systems are using. Also, if you are connected to a remote system, it may be worth checking the terminal type your software is set up for. For example, software designed to remotely log in to a VT-100 terminal may not work properly on a TTY terminal.
