This page is a guide to finding and fixing problems with PC's. It is designed for general computer users as a quick guide to tracking down faults. For those of you wish to have a little more in-depth knowledge of the subject, try the Links section, or a copy of the PC Support Handbook.
To start diagnosing your fault, pick the section above which is the device on your computer that seems not to be working. For example, if you see a 'Hard Disk' error displayed on the monitor, the problem is with the base unit, not the monitor. But if the monitor doesn't display anything at all, look in the Monitor section.
Then, choose the sentence which most closely matches your problem. You will be given some steps to help solve the problem. Eventually, when you run out of steps, the Guide will give you a diagnosis of the problem.
