I cannot access the floppy drive properly.

First Step : Check that the floppy disk itself is OK.
More information : Floppy Drive problems might include Disk Read or Write Error, Bad Media Type, Seek Error, Can not read from Drive A, or "phantom directories". The main cause of floppy disk errors is the diskette itself. Try the diskette in a known-good machine or drive. If it still does not work then the diskette itself is damaged. It may be possible to reconstruct it using a program such as Norton's DISK DOCTOR. If not, the disk may need reformatted entirely. The disk may even be completely unusable.
